Preserving the Legacy of 2000-2003

Long Hill Township Womans Club

In 1910, the women of Meyersville and Gillette organized the Meyersville Woman's Club as a reading group.  From its beginning, the Club was active in affairs of community, state and nation.

NJ Womens Club LogoIn 1917, the club affiliated with the New Jersey State Federation Of Women's Clubs and followed its activities and projects.  Soon, women from the entire community became members and in 1921, the name was changed to the Long Hill Community Club.  In June 1968, the Club name was changed to the Long Hill Woman's Club.  We celebrated the 90th anniversary of our Club's organization on June 13, 2000.

Activities of the Woman's Club include

  • We continue our very active reading program organized as our Literature Department.
  • We continue to support our local organizations as well as state projects.
  • We sent a girl to the Girls' Career Institute this year.
  • We awarded a bond for good citizenship to an 8th grade student from Central School.
  • We awarded two scholarships to students at Watchung Hills Regional High School.
We raise funds through a Community Craft and Flea Market Sale at the Long Hill Community Center, and through a Fish and Chips Dinner at the Grange.

Membership is open to residents of Long Hill, Basking Ridge. Warren, Watchung and surrounding areas.  Annual Dues are $34.00.  Contact any officer or come to our monthly meeting (see below).
