Long Hill Township has a Township Committee form of government.
Five members of the Township Committee are elected at large for staggered three-year terms.
The Township Committee organizes annually during the first week in January at
which time it elects a Mayor and Deputy Mayor from among the five members.
The Mayor presides at meetings of the Township Committee and performs such
other duties as the Township Committee or State law prescribe.
The Township Committee meets on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of the month.
Public meetings begin at 7:30 PM in the Town Hall.
The township committee meetings are broadcast live on LHTV (Comcast Channel 25 and Verizon Channel 37), and are rebroadcast 4 times. See the schedule.
Videotape of our Township Committee meetings is also broadcast on Patriot Media cable Channel 8 at 8:30 AM Sunday. The schedule is a little unpredictable. The most recent meeting will generally be aired on Sunday 11 days after the meeting, and will continue in reruns for 2 or 3 weeks until it is replaced by the subsequent meeting.
Complete minutes since 2000 are available on the website and at Town Hall and the Library. You may purchase a copy of the Township Committee meeting audio on DVD-ROM in MP3 format for $25.00.
A condensed agenda for the next meeting of the Township Committee
is posted on the website on Monday before each meeting.
