The Long Hill Police Department consists of
29 officers,
5 Telecommunications Operators, 8 School Crossing Guards, 2 Matrons, 2 secretaries and a part time
administrative assistant. Uniformed officers undergo intensive initial and recurring
training.
The police vehicle fleet includes 10 marked vehicles, 3 marked four-wheel drive vehicles and 4 bikes.
In 1985, the Long Hill Township Police Department was the
FIRST police department in New Jersey
to be accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA).
On March 24, 2001 the Long Hill Township Police Department was again
awarded National Accreditation status by CALEA.
