Preserving the Legacy of 2000-2003

55 Alive

Each year the Long Hill Township Police Department, along with the AARP, sponsors a 55 Alive defensive driving program.  The program was an outstanding success and generally, 20-30 concerned drivers are in attendance for the instruction.

Some of the benefits of attending and graduating from the course are

  • a 5% premium reduction from your insurance company,
  • a two point reduction from your drivers license, and
  • classroom instruction on defensive driving.

The drivers attending the class felt the course was a good refresher of motor vehicle laws, driving techniques, and awareness of changes taking place on the road.  The interaction between peers sharing experiences of realistic situations lead to several helpful discussions.

The class conducted on November 13 and 14, 2002 had a record attendance.  (See photo below.).
