Long Hill Township is a rural and low density residential community characterized
by large tracts of open space, attractive single family residential neighborhoods, tree-lined streets
and a general absence of large non-residential land uses.
The Township is one of the least dense and most scenic municipalities in Morris County.
If you are visiting us, you'll find the
driving instructions useful.
The Township Committee has established this award-winning
website to be a used and useful reference for
the residents of the township, and for people interested in becoming residents.
Our goal is that this site (and the other sites we link to) should provide useful answers to
your questions about the Township, its services, and our community.
If you don't know where to begin, try the Site Index
which appears at the end of the menu on every page.
If you still can't find the information you need, then please use the convenient mail links on every page
to ask for more data. We need your help to improve this site.

On October 19 and 20, the township will sponsor "2020 Vision" - a 2 day planning Seminar for residents.
Read about it and volunteer.
Because of all the enthusiasm in Long Hill over Master Plan Revision, the ANJEC study, and Future Search - 2007 ("2020 Vision"), we encourage residents to read the 1995
Master Plan in order to effectively participate.

Mayor's Message from the January 2, 2007 Reorganization Meeting.
Long Hill TV is now broadcasting Bulletin Board, weather, traffic and Public Service announcements on Patriot Channel 25.
LHTV also broadcasts meetings of the Township Committee and the Planning Board LIVE, and rebroadcasts them at different times during the following few days. See the schedule.
Videotape of our Township Committee meetings is also broadcast on Patriot Media cable Channel 8 at 8:30 AM Sunday. The schedule is a little unpredictable. The most recent meeting will generally be aired on Sunday 11 days after the meeting, and will continue in reruns for 2 or 3 weeks until it is replaced by the subsequent meeting.

If you are planning to sell or rent or buy a home in Long Hill Township,
you should read our Tips for Home Sellers and Buyers page.
It contains a checklist of suggestions for specific local requirements that you should investigate,
or discuss with your broker or attorney.
This website has quite a few forms that residents can use to
request services and to communicate with the government.
The complete list of forms is near the bottom of
the main menu on every page. These are our two most popular forms.
- We always need volunteers for all the town boards and committees,
the volunteer fire companies and first aid squad,
recreation coaches, fund raising, and special projects.
Please
use this form to let us know how you can help.
- We welcome your suggestions for topics we can discuss in depth at Township Committee meetings.
Give us your suggestions, please.
